As I am approaching death, and I see the Bardos past before my eyes, and knowing my imperfections, I see wonderous things sometime, and one of these is the thought which was delivered into my mind by some demigods which said I am offered entrance to the Vaikunthas, if I would spend one last lifetime as a monkey in Vrindavin. To be very brief, I seek a Krishna Conscious family or group, to live with. I'm being harrassed on the current land I'm on by a llocal criminal element, and I guess it is Krishna's way of moving me forward. The problem is that I'm 70, use a walker, and really can't do much anymore except listen to audio books and perform minor household or computer tasks. I get a small SS check and can help pay bills. I currently, and for the last 10 years have been camping in an old travel trailer in Georgia, which I do not own, but I have fixed it up nice. I don't have a car, and pretty much buy supplies online.
I hope someone out there can help me. I was an electronics and computer technician in my life in Babylon. I prefer a very rural location, where there are few cars and no rat race. I have camped most of my life and could live in a shed or old outbuilding. Thanks for reading this.

I've been studying about the bardos of the Tibetan Book of the Dead and what happens at death, and rebirth. Does it make sense to choose a monkey in Vrindavin, when the BoTD says that Krishna will come to the first bardo, and take you directly to the Vaikunthas, if you so desire. So is the monkey incarnation safe? I'm a Hanuman wannabe.

I'm a vanaprastha, looking for a group of elderly Krishna Conscious people who live in a rural monastic setting. I'm 68, and never go to doctors. I have been diligently reading the Srimad Bhagavatam( about half way thru), and came to a clarification of my position in this world. I thought I was a sannyasa, but I'm actually a vanaprastha. I have baggage.
To quote the SB: " Everyone should therefore seek the shelter of the Supreme Soul, the
source of all living entities. No one should waste his time in the so-called
happiness of materialistic household life. In the Vedic civilization, this
type of crippled life is allowed only until one's fiftieth year, when one
must give up family life and enter either the order of vanaprastha (inde
pendent retired life for cultivation of spiritual knowledge) or sannyasa
(the renounced order, in which one completely takes shelter of the
Supreme Personality of Godhead)"
So, I am engaged in an independent retired life for the cultivation of spiritual knowledge. My current place is pretty good, I have electricity, internet access, a place to garden, and no car. I go to town maybe 4 times a year. The only people around are not Krishna Conscious, and the so-called Christian conscious people are meat-eaters, drunks, and rat-racers.
I won't bore you you with any more details.
I can help with the bills, help maintain 1 common truck, and do electrical work. I prefer to be alone more than being in a group. I take care of myself.
So.... anyone know of such a rural monastic order or a remote farm family who would accept another member in a separate cabin?
I don't need to leave where I'm currently at, but as I look around, and as inevitable death draws closer and closer, I would prefer to be living near, and helping believers in Krishna. My money and time is wasted here with the non-believers.
I always wanted to live on a sustainable ox-powered farm, which was Prabhupada's dream. I absolutely hate cars, to the point where I curse drivers as they pollute my air with fumes, so car-lovers need not respond. Excess car use has destroyed this world, polluting it and causing wars for oil, and a persistent rat-race.
I don't know where else to post my request, so please advise me if there is a better
forum. If anyone is interested, email zzmiloschxx@gmail.com. Thanks You, Hare Krishna. less

I have been observing Ekadashi since little more than a year and it has improved my health also. Actually this auspicious day Ekadashi is meant for helping us in the process of purification. We become totally purified when we follow the rules and regulations of Krishna Consciousness until we become pure, and Ekadashi fasting is one of those rules and regulations. On this Ekadashi day, here in the US, I would like to hear from the experts the answer to "who is Ekadashi?". I've read numerous articles for the various Ekadashi days, and they all seem to tell a slightly different story. Also, in reading about the 1000 Faces of Vishnu, I read that Vishnu has only one female
avatar, named Mohini. Is Ekadashi the same as Mohini?
My basic understanding is that Ekadashi appeared to save Vishnu in a battle with a great Demon named Mura. She appeared as a young girl.
Is Mohini, the Femme Fatal, the same as Ekadashi? I don't believe this to be the case, but would someone please give me the correct viewpoint?
Who is Ekadashi, and what does Srila Prabupada say about her?

Ekadasi is not a person. Eka means one and dasi means 10. So Ekadasi means the number 11. It is used to refer to the 11th day of the waxing moon and the 11th day of the waning moon. As we use a lunar calender the days are named like this, as numbers. So there are two fortnights in one month. And each day of the fortnight is called by the number of the day.
So ekadasi just refers to the 11th day in the lunar fortnight.
Of course so many people write so much about ekadasi but basically it is all useless.
All we need to know about Ekadasi is that it is a very auspicious day and devotional activities like chanting Hare Krishna and reading Srila Prabhupada's books are more potent on the Ekadasi day than on other days. So the purpose of the Ekadasi is to increase our devotional service, to increase our hearing and chanting. So to help minimize the demands of the body we fast on the Ekadasi day.
If we eat less then we sleep less. So to get more time to chant Hare Krishna and read... less

math and science, or learned intuitively.
I happened to listen to NPR's Science Friday
today, and heard an interesting conversation with
professor Roger Penrose, who along with Stephen
Hawkings, developed the mathematics and physics
behind Black Holes.
What really peaked my interest, was Prof. Penrose's
description of our cosmos, as a succession of big
bang events coming out of black hole physics
He specifically said that information
can survive from the previous eons to
successive ones
Penrose said that he was surprised that more people
don't find this important
... well, I do!
The Srimad Bhagavatam, the essential
source of Krishna conciousness, describes the universe
exactly like this ... this was all written nearly
10,000 years ago, by wisemen who learned it from
God, without math or physics.
The truth is the truth, whether it is mathematically
derived, or intuitive ... the same truth appears
As the Srimad Bhagavatam describes it, after
4 yugas, of which our current time is the last
yuga, the material world is completely dissolved,
as if falling into a black hole, but the information
about all the souls, who still didn't make it out
of the material universe, is saved by Brahma, the
Great Unborn One
As the SB explains it, Brahma saves all the souls
states of karma, or their INFORMATION, then
Brahma goes to sleep.
Krishna then washes away the old
material world, and then allows a new one to form.
Brahma then reawakens, brings all the lost
souls back in existence, at the state of their previous
karma, and 4 new yugas begin.
Information, surviving from one eon to the next
I write this, because I may be the only one
who sees the connection and has the ability to
write about it ... there may be others, but I
don't hear their voices, so I speak up about
this great confluence of deep modern astrophysics,
and the description of creation in the Srimad Bhagavatam.

I finally have gained control over the 4 Regulative principles. The last stumbling block was No Intoxication. Very early in my life, I learned that Gambling and Meat Eating was bad, no problem there. Further along my path, I learned that Illicit Sex was wrong, although it really took me reaching male menopause for me to quit
longing for the female form. As I grew older I saw how wicked modern females
have become, and so ditching modern women became fairly easy.
The big stumbling block for me was No Intoxication. As I look back on it now, I can say that smoking ganja served me well when I was living in a toxic city, and I just needed to find a way to get off of the meat and alcohol which is pushed on everyone. Now, however, smoking is counter-productive to my conciousness.
It is poison to the mind because it makes you feel that the world is fine, when in reality it isn't. That makes you seek more and more of it, to stay in the delusion that the modern rat race polluting way of life is somehow good for the world.
From the reports in the news lately, it seems that very soon, the earth may become unihabitable by humans, especially 9 billion all wanting to drive cars.
We are destroying the earth, stay concious of that fact, and don't let Intoxication
give you a feeling of false hope for the future.
Hare Krishna, and may you all gain control of the 4 Regulative Principles. less

Yes raising money to restore Temples etc. would be great but the need of the hour is to work towards creating Spiritual Awareness. There are plenty of Temples, no dearth of them whatsoever - but while they do serve a certain purpose most times they do not create the necessary awareness as people who are stuck in the physical world do not look beyond material gains or sense satisfaction. Ekadasi is 11 days after the full moon and also 11 days after the no moon day (amavasya). The Luna cycle is 28 days so ekadasi is happening every two weeks. "Ekadasi" means eleven.

Anyways, today, I thought of a wise old devotee at New Vrindaban in W. Virginia. He called himself Shiva to me, but I later learned his real name is Tapajunja.
I was travelling around to a few Krishna temples, just seeing what was up, and I went to New Vrindaban. The head groundsman, and gardener there was an advanced devotee, named Tapapunja.
He, in a few short meetings, told me the Truth about reality, whilst I helped him

How all roads lead to Krishna.
... as I have moved forward and upward towards
a higher conciousness, I see the problem with
getting past the Brahman Effulgence, the Great
White Light, which bathes the universal hologram
with thoughts of genius and wisdom, the true
source of illumination in this world
... the problem according to Prabupada, is that
Buddhists stop at the Great White Light, and setup
their lotus blossom there, to bathe eternally
in the brilliance, and to propagate good thoughts
and wisdom towards earth and all creation
... the Buddhists do not know that there is whole
world beyond the Brahman Effulgence, because to admit
the possibilty, would imply there being a personalized God,
an idea which they do not find logical nor appealling
... so after sitting many years on their lotus blossom,
they desire companionship and form, and they re-incarnate
again, in the material world, because they know of no other
... but truth is, is that there is a whole other
universe of pure energy out there, and Vishnu
stands at the Gateway, keeping matter out,
and bad souls too.
... matter is considered contamination in the
pure energy world, and bad souls create chaos
... now Krishna, which is God's original and
preferred form, lives on what is described to us
as a petal shaped planet. Who knows what
the physics of a pure energy world would be?
Mathematically I can see how the shapes would
form. The physics of pure energy may very well
be aligned with thought energy.
... the Tibetan Monks hint at this world beyond
all material existence, in the Tibetan Book
of the Dead, where they portray the last bardo,
or spiritual room which you pass thru,
as a mysterious door, which leads to the unknown.
... so even though the Buddhists don't specifically
believe in a personalized God, they leave it open
as a possibility, in the unknown
... most Buddhists are quite happy to just
chop the wood, and haul the water,
coming to the zen realization that the
truth is inside the inner mind, not in
outside world
... the zen realization is that if you mind
your karma, and live simply, heaven will
take care of itself ... no need to actively
seek it out. Just chop the wood and haul the water.
... but if you descend deep enough into your
inner mind, there sits your paramatma, that
little bit of Vishnu put inside each of us,
to guide us beyond the Great White Light,
and onto the Vaikunthas and hopefully,
ultimately, Krishnaloka.
... zen brought me to Vishnu and Krishna,
through the great teachings of Prabupada.
... so it does seems true that all paths lead
to the same Truth less

The spirit of Vishnu permeates all, even the lies. The great master of all illusion and lies is Maya, and Maya serves Vishnu and Krishna by keeping souls with false egos imprisoned by earthly incarnations. So God is behind the Great Illusion, even though He wants us to escape it, but He cannot allow souls with false egos to enter into the higher dimensions, so Maya acts as his warden here on earth, holding us here with illusions of earthly wealth and power. If you are a good soul, the illusions of Maya have no effect on you. If you are bad soul, Maya gladly holds you here on earth by your own desires. less
About Me
I'm a 63 year old monk, living a secluded life back in the woods, seeking the path to the Vaikunthas. I meditate on what it means to leave the material world. I hope Vishnu will guide me.
Occupation

Interests
Computers, Perl programming, macrobiotics, vegetarianism, conciousness raising. I grow my own garden and am currently interested in the physics of the subatomic universe and negating the effects of gravity. I am fascinated by the stories of the Vimana flying machines.
UPDATE: NOV 20-2014
I received an email suggesting that I update my profile, so I will.
To be honest, I think this all started for me when they started putting hormones in milk to increase milk production. I just started looking for some place where the milk was still good, as some sort of primordial drive. Along the way, I came upon Krishna conciousness, and met a great devotee named Tapapunja, who amoung other truths, told me that commercially raised milk is bad karma, don't drink it. Thanks Tapapunja, wherever you are.
Also along the way I was initiated as a White Tara
at a Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Hawaii. When I asked what the white tara conveyed, I was told I would live long enough to attain enlightenment, and I think I may be getting close.
Now I seem inexorably drawn to India. I'm beginning to see that life in the United States and I, don't match up well. I always just wanted to be an ox farmer.
Along the way, I served Brahma, and learned many things, which all lead to an understanding of
the multidimensional universe, and Krishna.
I am just an old monk, in no way perfect. I don't know how it happened, but I somehow ended up needing a walker to get around and do my work.
I finally discovered from the Teachings of Queen Kunti, that every man is touched by death, preferrably by the time he is 50, so he has time to sit and ponder his mortal existence.
I live now in an old junk travel trailer, on a very quiet, nice farm in South Georgia. I cleared about
an 1/4 acre little homestead camp and garden, and help take care of a rodent hunting dog, a black cat, 2 rabbits who provide pellets for my pepper plants. I live on homegrown sweet bannana peppers, brown rice, beans, and peasoup, which I pressure cook. I have electricity.
Update: Mon Jan 19, 2015:
I used to use ganja, as a medecine. I know it is sad to be bad, but Lord Shiva used it to ease the conditions of isolated mountain living. That was my excuse anyways.
I finally have been shown why intoxication is bad, and I have stopped smoking. I have found that ganja is bad for me now, and the drug pushers were using the smoke to poison me
It gives me a great feeling of accomplishment to know that I have the 4 Regulative Principles under control.

So I a get a bare minimum social security check, which I can live on. I must say that I am attracted to the cheap and easy cost of living there, and it would sure help me, if I could setup in a similar campstead, in or near Rishikesh. My heart lies down in the warmer south and quiet of southern India , but I seriously believe that I seek the path the the Vaikunthas, where Vishnu will judge me, wherever that would take me. To be honest, at my age, and busted ego level, I feel no loss at leaving the US behind, I am not a rat-racer.
I must say, this all must be a dream, because it is mine. I couldn't travel alone, unless I can get out of needing this walker. It did improve my upper body strength tremendously.
Finally, the only better than an ox farmer, is to be a yeti. Sometimes I think I'm a yeti trying to regain
union with my lost tribe.
So, thats me. If I seem interesting to anyone ought there, please contact me.
I must thank Prabupada, and the whole chain of gurus, for passing this knowledge down to us lost in the heart of Kali Yuga.
I am lost in America, because I'm not a rat-racer, and never will be. I stay on the farm except for infrequent trips to town. I don't like cars at all. I rode a bicycle for years.
It has to do with disturbing your psychic continuity, by constant travel at a high speed.
This is not what humans were supposed to experience... moving faster than a trot.
The thought of a jet ride abhors me, and would prefer to ride a boat to wherever, even if it was slow.
I'm probably too finicky for most people, maybe thats my ego, but I call it playing it safe.
I talk to Vishnu thru my paramatma, and I hope to make it to Krishnaloka, but I will have to do whatever Vishnu decides, and I just pray everyday that it won't be on earth. I have been disappointed by humanity as a whole, there is way too much inequality amoung people.
I have a sense of humour.
Rama and Jesse Ventura 2016
I suppose I aspire to the ideal of Rama, but I long have since lost interest in this world.
Is that what is called a Death Wish? I don't go to doctors, because when I feel ill, I just lay down and ask God to let me die, this is not the world I want, anyways. I want to face Vishnu.
I often thought of the best way to die and dispose of my body. The Tibetan ceremony of feeding you to the high Andean condors seemed correct, but today I dreamed I was walking along a trail and felt sleepy, and crawled into a cool rock crevice for a nice nap, and never woke up.
If you visit my website, you will see I seek the truth, and that is what the unicorn represents... the truth.
